Volt Post – Week Three

I put gas in my Volt for the first time this Sunday.  My husband and I drove to Detroit for a show with friends and it was time to make sure I had the extra go power.  The tank is just over 9 gallons and remember it does take premium.  We had four adults in the car (I think we are all pretty average sized!) and did well on the drive.

I’m getting anywhere from 29 to 35 miles on a charge.  The past few days I’ve been doing mainly in town driving or just shorter trips to Brighton so it has been a perfect Volt scenario.  Looking forward to the extra charge as it gets warmer (okay, I’m also looking forward to warmth).

I leave it plugged in at night or anytime it’s in the garage.  I need to call DTE and figure out the charging improvements/new box.  Plugging it into my garage outlet has been so easy that the upgrade isn’t really a priority.  Although last week, I drove to Detroit for a meeting at lunch and had to be in Lansing for an event that night.  If I’d had the fast charge station at home, I could have stopped in Howell for long enough to get a zap and run off of battery.  So I should call.
