Jamie Scripps

Jamie Scripps is a partner with 5 Lakes Energy where she specializes in renewable energy and energy efficiency policy, and research and analysis related to regulatory solutions and electric utility rate design. Jamie’s standby rate research has been featured in proceedings in Minnesota and Michigan, and she is a recognized expert on policies related to the deployment of cogeneration.

In 2016, Jamie was featured as a Midwest Energy News “40 under 40” awardee.

Prior to joining 5 Lakes Energy, Jamie served as assistant deputy director for the Michigan Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.

A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, and a 2005 recipient of the law school’s Irving Stenn Jr. Leadership Award, Jamie has practiced law with Sondee, Racine & Doren PLC in Traverse City, Michigan and Venable LLP in Washington, D.C. where she represented both municipally-owned and investor-owned utilities. Jamie also served as deputy policy director for the Michigan Environmental Council (MEC).

In addition to her J.D. from Michigan Law, Jamie has earned a master’s degree in leadership studies from North Central College and a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Michigan.

Jamie resides in Northport, Michigan with her husband, Dan and their sons, Jack and Nicol.
