Laila is a senior at Michigan State University studying Social Relations and Policy in James Madison College. She chairs the Social Relations and Policy Caucus of James Madison Student Senate and takes pride in providing a voice for her constituents. In the past, she has worked at the multi-client lobbying firm, Capitol Services, Inc., and was a Neighborhood Team Leader during the 2012 campaign cycle. Upon graduation, Laila hopes to move to D.C. and become a community organizer for issues surrounding the middle class, public health, and public transportation.
