Join us as we discuss some of the various types of small scale renewable energy systems; the financial ins and outs of renewables;laws and regulations covering them; opportunities for entrepreneurs; and lots more.

Panelists:

John Sarver started with the Michigan Energy Office in 1976 and has been involved in a variety of energy efficiency and renewable energy programs and issues. John recently retired from state government where he was responsible for residential energy programs and efforts to promote solar and wind energy. John chairs the Michigan Wind Working Group and serves on the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative Steering Committee. He has a Masters in Public Policy from the University of Michigan.

Julie Baldwin is Manager of the Michigan Public Service Commission’s Renewable Energy Section. Julie has worked at the Commission for 21 years in the areas of both natural gas and electric utility regulation and is currently working on implementing Michigan’s renewable portfolio standard and issues related to net metering and interconnection.

Matthew Grocoff is Founder and Host of Greenovation[dot]TV. Matt is also a recovering attorney turned producer/director of television commercials, internet advocacy videos and documentary film. Matt is a regular contributor to the Environment Report syndicated on public radio stations, he is the green renovation expert for Old House Web, and has been featured in the Washington Post, USA Today, Detroit Free Press, NBC Detroit, and countless online magazines and blogs.
