
DENNIS ADAMS-SMITH
As a senior consultant with 5 Lakes Energy, Dennis Adams-Smith focuses on power sector modeling of renewable energies in the Midwest.
Dennis is a mathematician at heart with an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Alfred University and a master’s degree in mathematical sciences from Clemson University. His work on network data structures and optimization algorithms is supported by strong programming skills in Python, R, SAS, and MATLAB.
Prior to joining 5LE, Dennis was a part of the Empirical Statistical Downscaling team at NOAA’s Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. He brought in-depth knowledge of statistical methods, programming and climate data to expanding their software framework for downscaling and analyzing global climate model output. He was previously employed by Climate Central where he was integral to the formation and success of their Climate Matters program.
Dennis is a native of Niagara Falls, New York.
