On Friday 2/7, 5 Lakes Energy’s Jamie Scripps will moderate an afternoon panel on “Citizen Action” at the Third Annual “Women & Environment Symposium” to be held at the Eberhard Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The panel will include acclaimed ecologist and author Dr. Sandra Steingraber, State Representative Winnie Brinks, Kent County Commissioner Candace Chivis, Kimberly Hill-Knott from Detroiters Working for Environmental Justice, and Erica Bloom from the Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
The Women & Environment Symposium, presented by the West Michigan Environmental Action Council (WMEAC) and Grand Valley State University, will explore the intersection between women’s issues and environmental concerns. Topics will include environmental impacts on women’s and children’s health, food and farming practices, eco-business and sustainable living.
